Frequently Asked Questions
Is LexKnights a legal practice?
LexKnights is a technology company incorporated in Singapore. While we have legally trained members in our team, we do not provide legal advice or services and are not a licensed legal practice in any jurisdiction.
We offer tailored contracts for business and commercial dealings. These contracts are automatically generated on the basis of templates drafted by highly experienced professionals in business and commercial contracting. They are also reviewed by our legally trained staff for internal quality assurance purposes, but this does not create a lawyer-client relationship with you or constitute legal advice or services being provided to you in any way.
While we strive to provide you with the highest quality contracts tailored to your needs, we cannot guarantee that the documents generated, with the input you have given, will be legally sound or otherwise suitable for your purposes. Such opinion or clearance would be legal advice which we are not capable of giving. If you are in doubt, you should consult a lawyer.
How do I figure out which contract I need for my situation?
When you select a contract in our home page or in the automated contracts page of our website, you will be taken to a contract information page where you can read about the purpose of the contract, its key terms and customization options.
Once you start the contract generation workflow, the first step will offer you the opportunity to review a sample contract substantially similar to the contract that would be generated for you (subject to your own input and selections to the customization options). We recommend that you review this page by page to determine whether the document is fit for your purpose.
Also feel free to reach out to us! You can do so via our website live chat or via email at email@example.com and we will get back to you at the earliest opportunity. Our experts will ask you questions to understand your business and commercial context and help you determine whether LexKnights has the contract you need. However, we are unable to offer advise as to matters of law, as we are not a legal practice and do not provide legal advice. If in doubt, you should consult your lawyer.
What am I paying for when I purchase and generate a LexKnights contract?
For the relevant 'price per contract' stated on our website, you are buying a single-use, professionally drafted business contract customized to your needs based on your input to a series of questions, together with a managed e-signature service to execute your legally binding agreement quickly and efficiently.
'Single Use' means that, for example, if you have purchased a Non-Disclosure Agreement to sign with Party A, and you later need to sign another Non-Disclosure Agreement with Party B, you would need to pay the price per contract once for Party A, and then again later for the contract with Party B.
All versions of the single-use contracts delivered to you will be in PDF format only. You will be able to download a PDF copy of the generated document prior to signature (e.g. to print and review if needed), another PDF copy with your signature only (which you will receive via email after you sign electronically), and a final PDF copy of the fully executed document once your counterparty has also signed. We do not provide a Microsoft Word version of the document.
How much can I customize the contract during the generation process?
This varies from document to document. We strive to strike the right balance between offering you a wide range of options to suit your needs and avoiding variations over standard terms that have traditionally made contracting inefficient in our experience.
You may wish to refer to the section entitled “Key Features” on the main page of each contract generator on our website to see the options that can be customized.
If you have any questions or feedback regarding the customization of our contracts, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via our live chat or by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can I make changes to the contract once it is generated before signature?
Generally, all customizations to the automated contracts are made during the initial generation process. Once you have completed all the customization questions, the document is directly submitted to you for review and digital signature. There are no options to customize the documents post-generation at this stage.
The contracts we provide are relative standard business agreements. By ‘standard’ we mean that there is a limited number of commercial positions taken on a limited sub-set of terms within each contract. We strive to cover this variability within our customization options during the generation stage.
Our mission is to simplify ordinary course business contracting to reduce time and expense and improve relationships. For this reason, based on our contracting experience, we try to limit excessive negotiation of standard business contract terms and tweaking of superficial contract language, as well as to ensure that open changes do not make the contract unsound.
That said, we are keen to receive your feedback as to other useful customization options that we may not yet have included in our contracts! Please email us any feedback to email@example.com.
In the unlikely event that you encounter any unexpected issues with the contract generated for you, please reach out to us via the live chat on our website or by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you resolve with all due urgency.
Does LexKnights provide advice / ongoing support for the contracts?
Lexknights’ service is currently limited to the automated generation of the first and only version of each contract. We are not currently in a position to support negotiation and revision of the contract, and we are unable to offer legal advice with respect to the contract, its potential interpretation by the courts of any jurisdiction, or your rights and obligations under it.
That said, do not hesitate to contact us if you have any clarifications about the suitability of a contract from a business or commercial perspective, or if you need help during the generation process. We can be reached via email at email@example.com or via the live chat on our website.
